dw, yes is the anthem at sports needed? When shopping malls open there is no anthem. Before a movie or play starts, no anthem. Yes, why only at sports ans why at sports, except tradition.?

Pro sports attendance and viewing on TV is falling. I went to my first Twins game this year at their new stadium. I got good tickets 12 rows up from the 1st base dugout. I felt it would be my only Twins game i would go to and wanted nice seat. OK, so $206 for 2 non box seat tickets, $13 for parking in the ramp next to the stadium. I paid $6.50 for a soft ice cream cone in a waffle cone. Woo Hoo. LOL. Sports stadiums have learned from theaters on how to price gouge.

The Vikings stadium, OMG.. $1,000,000,000. Half of it paid by taxpayers, half by the team. Assuming a losing team, they play 2 preseason games there and 8 regular season games. Yes, they will have concerts, the Super Bowl this year, high school championships, etc. But, it will be used less than 3 days per month, and by far most of the jobs are minimum wage part time jobs. OMG. A billion dollars could have been used to bring in new factories with full time nice paying jobs. Yes a lot of jobs building the stadium for 2 years, but building factories would have done the same.

Bottom line, sports sells newspapers and get people to watch TV. So the media promotes sports for their benefit. Then these over sized millionaires act like 8th grade boys. And now it brings in politics? F__K them.

And then Jerry Jones, leading the knelling frenzy? How stupid is that? Since maybe at least 1/3 of his fans are pissed at him and many will never watch an other Cowboys game for some time. One can't make that kind of stupid up.
