Metsä Board Corporation press release 25 September 2017 Metsä Board’s paperboards were used by winners in three categories at the 2017 European Carton Excellence Awards: Food & Beverages, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and the Public Award. The Award Gala was held on 21 September in Salzburg, Austria.

This demonstrates the important part that the packaging plays in creating maximum shelf-impact and can help differentiate a brand from the competition. Sustainability too should be an integral part of the packaging design, so that the packaging is not only made of sustainable materials but it is also lightweight, right-sized, functional and easy to recycle; our products also helped achieve these goals”, states Mika Paljakka , VP Sales EMEA, Metsä Board. “We would like to extend our congratulations to everyone who participated in the vision, design and production of the winning cartons.”
The jury looked for excellence in design, convenience, brand communication and the major role paperboard plays as an innovative packaging material. In total Metsä Board paperboard featured in eight of the finalist packages.
