Ambu A/S: Patient safety made simpler with innovat

Integration of VivaSight further strengthens Ambu's aScope solution.
In 2016, Ambu acquired Israeli company ETView and thereby the VivaSight products - single-use double-lumen and single-lumen tubes with integrated high-resolution camera - available with a separate monitor. Now, Ambu announces the integration of VivaSight into Ambu's aScope solution.
The VivaSight products are now compatible with the Ambu ® aView TM monitor. This means that doctors and nurses can plug aScope and VivaSight into the same monitor making the setup for single lung procedures simpler.
Lars Marcher, CEO of Ambu, comments: " We acquired ETView last year because we saw a synergy between VivaSight and Ambu's aScope devices. The practical integration of the two technologies is a natural step to realise that synergy to the benefit of the doctor and the patient. "
Enhancing patient safety VivaSight enhances patient safety as it provides continuous visual monitoring of tube positioning throughout the entire surgical procedure. The continuous monitoring via a live video feed enables the clinician to immediately detect and correct the positioning of the tube if it has become displaced. This is a major step forward in enhancing patient safety.
Ambu displays the new integrated solution in Vienna from 25 to 27 September at the annual congress of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM). The new VivaSight solution will be available for sale in Europe and USA mid-November 2017.
Ambu will comment on the financial impact of the VivaSight integration in connection with the company's Capital Market Day on 4 October 2017.
