Effingham, Illinois, Sept. 21, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Heartland Dental , the largest dental support organization in the country, recently spearheaded a relief effort to help the company’s supported dentists and team members affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
“We have an estimated 236 supported offices in Florida and Texas, with countless team members, that have been directly impacted by the devastation of Harvey and Irma. It’s been difficult and heartbreaking to see so many members of our Heartland Dental family removed from their homes and hear of the losses they’ve suffered,” said Patrick Bauer, president and chief executive officer at Heartland Dental. “As a company committed to our teams and built on the motto, ‘do the right things for the right reasons,’ it was imperative that we do everything in our power to support them.”
In response, Heartland Dental created a disaster relief fund to assist supported dentists and team members impacted by natural disasters – in this case, Harvey and Irma. In less than a month, over $40,000 has been raised. Heartland Dental has also pledged to match up to $50,000 to add. Heartland Dental has also ensured that all team members unable to work due to the storms are still being paid and insured. In addition, the company donated 6,000 tubes of toothpaste and 7,500 toothbrushes to Harvey victims. These donations were provided to children in need at the Refugio Elementary School in Refugio, Texas.
