From my prior work experience as controller of a mid-size carpet import/distributor, I prepared commission checks for approx 30 independent sales agents (as well as 14 in-house sales reps). Many of these 30 agents would receive $20k - $30k commission checks each month (average $25k/mo). Their commission rates varied between 9% - 14% depending on selling price to our customer.)
Based on this information, it's fair to assume a 11% commission rate (which is an average of 9% - 14%) and an average monthly commision check to each sales agent of $25k.
The additional commissions & sales are estimated to be:
1) 16 agents * $25k/mo * 12 mos = $5 mil in commissions
2) $5 mil in commissions / 11% average commision rate =
$45,000,000 in total annual sales.
