Jimmy Kimmel’s Shredding Of Graham-Cassidy Is The Explanation That America Needs To Hear

By Jason Easley on Wed, Sep 20th, 2017 at 10:58 am

On his ABC late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel broke down the Graham-Cassidy Obamacare repeal bill. He exposed what the bill will do, and added that Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) lied to his face about healthcare reform.

Video: http://www.politicususa.com/2017/09/20/jimmy-...-hear.html

Kimmel said, “[Cassidy] said he wants coverage for all; no discrimination based on preexisting conditions; lower premiums for middle-class families; and no lifetime caps. And guess what? The new bill? Does none of those things.

Coverage for all? No. In fact, it will kick about 30 million people off of insurance. Preexisting conditions? Nope. If the bill passes, individual states can let insurance companies charge more if you have a preexisting condition. You’ll find that little loophole later in the document after it says they can’t. They can and they will.

But will it lower premiums? Well, in fact, for lots of people, the bill will result in higher premiums, and as far as no lifetime caps go, the states can decide on that too, which means that there will be lifetime caps in many states.

So not only did Bill Cassidy fail the Jimmy Kimmel test, he failed his own test. He failed the Bill Cassidy test, and you don’t see that happen very much.”

The Washington Post fact-checked him and found that Kimmel was correct. For his part, Sen. Cassidy claimed that Kimmel doesn’t understand the bill:

The truth is that Kimmel seems to understand the bill better than most Republican Senators. Probably, because unlike the Republicans who will be voting yes on it, Kimmel appears to have read the bill.

Republicans are counting on Graham-Cassidy and its block grant plan to be too complicated for people to understand, but it isn’t that hard. Jimmy Kimmel described it in less than seven minutes.

Every American needs to see this Kimmel segment because it will educate and help them understand how dangerous the Graham-Cassidy legislation is to their health care.
