ECOC 2017 Conference
ECOC is one of the premier international conferences in the field, with an exciting and comprehensive coverage of cutting-edge basic and applied research. Each year, ECOC offers unique insights into leading developments in optical communications and unparalleled networking with over 5,000 of your colleagues from all over the world.
In September 2017 the 43rd edition of ECOC will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden. This event will showcase state of the art results which bridge the gap between basic science and applications.

Session Details (#1)
Polymer PICs as a platform for 100G and 400G photonics and an update on photonic roadmaps for integrated photonics.Add To Shortlist
Summary/Topic:Topic: Photonic integration and digital silicon photonics
Date and Time:Wednesday, 20th Sep 14:25 - 14:55
Session Details:This talk will review the latest work in photonics roadmaps for 400Gbps and 800Gbps (as Lightwave contributed to the IPSR – International Photonics Systems Roadmap process in 2017). Furthermore, the talk will discuss the new opportunities for polymer based high speed modulators that are expected to scale in cost performance for these data-rates. The talk will detail Mach-Zehnder polymer modulators that will enable full standardized 100Gbps datacenter, data communications, and high-performance computing applications using a polymer photonics integrated Circuit (P2ICTM) technology platform, and will show how the technology platform will scale to 400Gbps.
Location:Market Focus Theatre
Session Details (#2)
Applications of 64Gbaud Optical Components and ModulesAdd To Shortlist Summary/Topic:Topic: Photonic integration and digital silicon photonics
Date and Time:Wednesday, 20th Sep 13:50 - 14:20Speaker(s): Michael LebbyCEO,Lightwave Logic
Session Details:In addition to moving to higher order modulation schemes such as 16 QAM, increasing the baud rate in coherent systems from 32 Gbaud to 64 Gbaud has emerged as a major tool to increase the capacity of coherent systems. Together, these two techniques open up multiple new applications, including: • 400ZR modules: Single span, single lambda 400G ~100km transmission for data center interconnect applications. • Modules or daughter cards with programmable baud rate, constellations, and distances, covering 100G up to 2000 km to 600G up to 80 km, for “all-purpose” applications which can cover DCI, metro, and long-haul systems. • Flexible network using wavelength- and bandwidth-flexible add/drop modules. • Higher baud rate direct detect single-wavelength 100Gb/s PAM4 transmission systems. We will discuss key enabling components such as InP micro-modulators, micro-intradyne receivers, and ultra-narrow-linewidth tunable lasers.
