Unsupportable by the facts. Civil rights were going to happen sooner or later. The GOP made it's choice and attracted the votes of bigots, by intent.
Buy votes? You mean by assuring the right to vote, to use public accommodations and to attend public schools? Yeah, the GOP has been on the wrong side of all of that for a long time now.
Are you actually going to continue to pretend that there was no 'Southern Strategy' authored by the GOP, and later apologized for by the head of the RNC?
It's in the history books.
Chicago is doing fine by most people, including a large black middle class.
There are more people on welfare throughout Red State America than there are in any other region.
