SAN JOSE, Calif. , Sept. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Firsthand Technology Value Fund, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVVC ) (the “Fund”), a publicly traded venture capital fund that invests in technology and cleantech companies, announced today that Roku, a Fund holding since 2015, has filed its plans to go public through an initial public offering (“IPO”). The number of shares and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined, and there can be no assurances whether the offering will be completed or of market conditions at the time of any such offering. Roku has applied for listing on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “ROKU”.
Morgan Stanley and Citigroup are the lead underwriters for the proposed offering.
The Fund holds 1.5 million shares of Roku common stock as of June 30, 2017, at an approximate average cost of $1.54 per share. The Fund’s shares are subject to a customary 180-day lockup provision.
Roku's video streaming devices provide access to content from providers such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon.com, and HBO.
