Ebix's decision to sponsor Coco Vandeweghe was driven by Ebix's growing stature as an international brand, and Coco being one of America's key contenders to the top ranks of Women's world tennis. With this announcement, Team Ebix now has three world ranked tennis players as its global ambassadors -- Americans John Isner and Coco Vandeweghe, and the European Tomas Berdych.
Having reached the semifinals of the 2017 Australian Open, where she defeated amongst others the defending champion and then world No. 1 Angelique Kerber in straight sets, Vandeweghe is considered one of the contenders to win the 2017 US Open. Vandeweghe's accomplishments include winning the Junior US Open champion in 2008 besides winning two WTA titles and reaching the quarterfinals of both the 2015 and the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. Vandeweghe also won the 2016 WTA Indian Wells doubles tournament while reaching the finals at both the 2016 Australian Open and the 2016 US Open in mixed doubles.
