He is everybody's president, and we should say nice things about him
Some people seem to think that Our President only cares about billionaires who suffer from depression and might commit suicide unless they get big tax cuts
Of course, there is nothing at all wrong with showing empathy towards such billionaires, especially when they are misunderstood. But this not my point. What I would like to be able to say is that Our President is trying very hard to represent everybody in this big and diverse country of ours, and he is doing the best anyone could do
Take people who want to drive cars into crowds, in order to protect Our Confederate Monuments, for example. Whether or not you know any of them, there are people like that in Our Great Country, and often they are not well represented in our political system. But Our President feels their pain -- and deserves credit for that
Or how about Trust Fund Children who have no real life skills and so are forced to sell knock-off fashion accessories in order to seem gainfully employed? Surely it is not wrong to care about these unfortunates. Our President has actually taken steps to help one or two of them, so let's give credit where credit is due
Surprisingly many Americans are biased against the small minority of sheriffs who arrest people without probable cause and then ignore court orders to stop. Of course, we would not hear all this loud ugly criticism of sheriffs if a majority of the sheriffs, who arrest people without probable cause, ignored court orders to stop: no, we only hear all this criticism today because it is directed against a minority of sheriffs.
And yet everyone in Our Great Country knows prejudice against a minority is wrong. Here again, we must appreciate Our President's willingness to take a stand for the outcasts and the forgotten
Some people seem to think Our President is trying to limit who can decide who is elected. But another thing that is seldom recognized is how Our President is giving a voice in our government to record numbers of people.
Before Our President came to office, less than 300 million people could help choose who sits in the White House. And today the number is closer to 450 million, because now the Russians get a voice too. Everyone who really wants more people involved in the picking of Our President should be pleased by this
So let us not bitch and moan but be grateful for the many things Our President has been doing
Thank you for reading this far
