Trump In Free Fall As Only 15% Of Americans Say They Agree With Him On All Issues

By Jason Easley on Tue, Aug 29th, 2017 at 11:22 am

A new Pew Research poll found that Trump may be the most out of touch president in history as only 15% of Americans said that they agreed with him on all of the issues.

According to Pew Research, “The survey, conducted by Pew Research Center Aug. 15-21 among 1,893 adults, finds that 15% of Americans say they agree with Trump on all or nearly all issues, while another 18% say they agree with him on many but not all issues. Most say they agree with Trump on either a few issues (21%) or “no or almost no issues” (45%).”

In the chart below, 2/3 of the country disagrees with Trump on the issues:

It is possible that Trump’s base of support might be overestimated. Thirty-three percent of the country agrees with the president on many and all issues, but only 15% agree with Trump on all issues. Trump has more people in the soft part of his base (18%) than he has who agree with him on everything (15%).

Of the 33% that support him, the majority have some disagreement with Trump. This suggests that Trump’s hard-line base of support is really 15% and that his approval rating has the potential to drop into the teens.

Trump has flatlined at 33%-35% approval and support, but that bulk of that approval is conditional. Trump can go much lower because he still hasn’t faced an economic decline or any of the normal events that drive presidential approval ratings down.

Trump is in free fall. His base is slipping from beneath him, and no one should be surprised if his approval rating hits lows that have never been seen before in the history of polling.
