Investigators want to know what Donald Trump knew about his son's Trump Tower meeting with Russia and if he tried to cover-up its real purpose. .
NBC News reported:
Federal investigators working for Special Counsel Robert Mueller are keenly focused on President Donald Trump’s role in crafting a response to a published article about a meeting between Russians and his son Donald Jr., three sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.
The sources told NBC News that prosecutors want to know what Trump knew about the meeting and whether he sought to conceal its purpose.

A person familiar with Mueller’s strategy said that whether or not Trump made a “knowingly false statement” is now of interest to prosecutors.
“Even if Trump is not charged with a crime as a result of the statement, it could be useful to Mueller’s team to show Trump’s conduct to a jury that may be considering other charges
Other charges most likely include obstruction of justice, which is already known that Trump is under investigation for. It is amazing that some presidents never learn from history.
It was the cover-up that brought down Richard Nixon, and it likely will be the cover-up that will bring down Donald Trump. The President is under investigation for obstruction of justice because he fired James Comey in a bid to kill the Russia scandal.
On top of that investigation, he is also being investigated for making false statements, when he drafted Donald Trump Jr’s response about the Russia meeting.
At the heart of all of the lies is a real scandal. If Trump were innocent, he wouldn’t need to cover-up his campaign’s communications with the Russians.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller is leaving no stone unturned. Trump is sweating bullets because his secrets are coming out, as investigators are closing in on the truth about Trump and Russia.
