You may have found them interesting, but everything I've read about Amazon Brand Registry is that it's more of a vendor related tool than any sort of significant selling platform advancement.
The Amazon Brand Registry is a manufacturer's tool. DECN thought that certain sellers, like they said in their quarterly report and in their news release, "ghost" sellers were destroying the retail base for GenUltimate. Amazon offers a tool to relieve that problem. It appears to have worked. Retail prices for GenUltimate on Amazon are already significantly higher. That in my opinion was DECN's goal not another effing conspiracy like scoop would have you believe.
If anything,as Loan implied,it's just another way for Full Circle or one of the three main distributors to claim the sale. It's an "ownership" move by DECN to protect who will be the primary on any sales on Amazon.
loanranger is a dick too. Full Circle Diabetes is not a manufacturer and holds no trademarks on GenUltimate. Perhaps in retrospect Mr. Berman should have made the changes on Amazon himself to protect a company employee from the hurtful words of a class action lawsuit troll.
"The program delivers the following benefits:
Increased authority over listing content for your products: Registering your brand with Amazon gives you increased control over your products' titles, details, images, and other attributes. It also has the potential to reduce matching errors that may occur during listing.
Amazon-issued product IDs that can be used in place of UPCs: Registering your brand allows you to list your products without standard product identifiers, such as UPCs and EANs. Enrollment assigns a Global Catalog Identifier (GCID) to your products, which you can use in place of the standard product ID. (Although we recommend that you continue to include your products' standard IDs if they exist.)"
It's a sales and marketing administration tool.
And what is wrong with that? Is there some sort of conspiracy involved for a manufacturer to protect its retail prices?
