H2-power holds a lot of promise...but that's mostly as far as it's gone to-date...'promise'. I've been observing this concept for many years & I no longer expect this to fulfill its promise anytime soon. The science works, but getting it out of the lab & into the commercial sector (in volume, for practical purposes) has been fraught with hindrances & false-starts for decades. It all sounds great & makes good sense, but there have always been problems with cost-effective generation of H2, as well as serious flammability, safe storage & support infra-structure issues that have never been satisfactorily resolved, by-in-large. I saw my first H2-powered concept vehicle in 1977, where it was labeled the way of the future...& it's likely to remain so for years to come, much like the promise of nuclear fusion. As I recall seeing, their was even an effort to try & set-up H2 refueling stations at some of the local gas stations here in California in the 1990's...most have since been removed & H2-powered vehicles remain few & far between. Nationwide, they've only just recently gotten really serious about installing E-Car recharging stations. Don't get me wrong, it's a splendid idea, but it's far from being practical for widespread everyday usage in the foreseeable future, from my POV. Some of FFs' other target areas seem a bit more realistic & attainable, to me anyway.
