The American Lawyer named Ropes & Gray to its 2017 “A-List,” an annual ranking of the top 20 law firms in the United States. This year, the firm has been ranked number two, its highest ranking ever.
This marks the seventh consecutive year that the firm has been recognized on the elite A-List, which appears in the magazine's August 2017 issue.
A-List firms are chosen based on rankings for firm performance, pro bono work, associate satisfaction, diversity and, added to the calculation for the first time this year, gender diversity. (AmLaw ranked firms based on the percentage of women among their equity partners.) Because of this multi-dimensional ranking system, the A-List is one of the industry’s most coveted achievements.
The A-List honor is the latest in an impressive list of accolades over the last year, including top-ten rankings in both Asia and North America in The Financial Times “Innovative Lawyers” report and top-tier rankings in Chambers USA, Chambers Global, Chambers Asia and Chambers UK. The firm was recently named to The National Law Journal Pro Bono Hotlist and received top rankings for both diversity and workplace satisfaction in this year’s Vault guide.
