My uneducated view and suggestions:
1. I would definitely put 500 dollars in the account so they don't close it.
I do not know if not doing that would jeopardize your dark/shares, but I wouldn't want to find out if they closed it.
2. I would not think it is possible to transfer shares at this time. But, if you haven't, Id call etrade and get a definitive answer.
3. If push comes to shove, I think you would take the trade of swapping 5% for hundreds of thousands of dollars. SO PUT THE 500 IN!!!!!! If they close out your account and you can not retrieve those shares, you are going to be one pissed off person, the rest of your life.
ALL are just my opinions and not fact. I am just stating what I would do.
