Fantastic article, thanks sox. One factor that may contribute to the (usually) greater longevity of very rich people is that they often have full-body MRI's to detect problems at an early stage.
Remember, Steve Jobs' pancreatic tumor was identified very, very early, when it could have been completely cured by removal (no chemo or radiation). Instead he opted to go to some lunatic-fringe clinic in Mexico for "natural" treatment. By being allowed to grow and spread, it then turned into the disastrous situation that killed him.
I hope that the cost of the full-body scan drops so that more can afford it, since insurance is very unlikely to pay for it except for possibly the people with the mutation that sox's article mentions.
