AVXL is a good example of how a pumper/dumper gang can manipulate stock price. Take a look at this chart:

See the big moves up in 2015, followed by tanking, and then moves up again?
I was watching the AVXL lieHUB boards at that time, and there was an amazing amount of pumping, much of it done by the same names that were bashing CTIX. They would pump like crazy, then disappear when the stock tanked, then reappear pumping madly again.
It was during this time that two separate traders' gangs PM'ed me, inviting me to join them in their pump and dump operation. So I do know that such things happen and that the traders' gangs do exist.
As far as the company itself, they have made some very questionable decisions and I have no idea whether they will eventually be able to bring anything to the point of having a large clinical trial. I have no position in the stock.
