Let's get an understanding of terms. The judge doesn't rule on a settlement, although in very rare cases and in rare circumstances he may reject a settlement. Judges rule on cases and on Motions made. As it stands today, J&J is trying to make the judge believe that they will win the case. They also understand that DECN knows better and will have a golden opportunity to blow out J&J's case between now and August 31. The case isn't ripe for settlement yet.
