The research is ongoing. The gains in efficiency continue. The efficiency isn't at the grid parity, but it looks to be getting close. If my memory serves, grid parity is considered to be around 15% efficiency. These are just some examples in the past month, more below. QMC doesn't necessarily have to research the solar cell application, they just need to be able to make the quantum dots to use in the solar cell.
