ive been spending the past several hours researching XRP. After reviewing my risk/reward ratio for where i personally believe this may head, investing here is worth the risk; but only by not investing more than i can afford to lose.
the price is low enough where i can create a substantial position at minimum cost. its difficult to determine if XRP could ever reach BTC levels @ $2000+. online sentiment suggests an impossibility due to basic math that at those levels, it would be worth more than all the money in the world.
im convinced the majority of XRP investors have no clue what theyre doing and are hoping to make millions off of this. its important to remember there is a set number of XRP @ 100 billion XRP. it will never change. This is not necessarily an 'investment' as we are used to in the stock market, which means rules for investing as an investor do not apply here. i believe this will be the downfall of many investors. XRP is new and will behave in unexpected manners. while purchasing XRP is fun and exciting, 'up' is not the only direction here. the price could easily plummet to .01 or below at any time. thinking this an impossibility proves ones inexperience in this sector.

Notice the chart. Despite short term uptrends, there is no way to know for several more months which direction this is headed. I am not suggesting the price will decline below .18; i am simply saying looking at the facts (chart), we see a downtrend.
My plan is as follows:
Create a small position to become acquainted with XRP. For the next 5 months remaining in 2017, I will purchase the same amount regardless of the price. By doing so, in 2018, my position will be an average of 5 months instead of basing my cost on one large purchase. By January we will have a better idea of direction.
Dont forget.. you can own 5 million XRP. but unless youre willing to sell.. you own nothing. At what price are YOU willing to sell without regret? I believe many investors here are not mentally and emotionally prepared for the extremely long experience ahead; especially if the price crashes someday due to unforeseen circumstances.
