Dismissing medical science and all pharmaceuticals is, to me, just as foolish as adhering religiously to any 'food pyramids'.
And if you really believe that kickbacks are as prevalent as you claim, as determinative in the writing of RX's as you believe, there is no point in visiting a doctor's office.
I believe otherwise. So does the doctor I go to.
And then there is heredity which can undermine the best efforts to thwart it.
Bottom line? The least amount of body weight/BM that you can safely attain, together with aerobic and strength training, is likely still the best protection, the best enhancement of longevity available.
Specific vulnerabilities to diabetes and CAD require even more dedication and discipline.
