Galileo Global Equity Advisors Inc., a Toronto, Ontario-based investment adviser, is pleased to announce the promotion of Evelyn Foo to President and Chief Compliance Officer and Samuel Pelaez to Chief Investment Officer. Ms. Foo will keep her titles of CFO and Chief Operating Officer of Galileo in addition to her new titles. Similarly, Mr. Pelaez will keep his title of Portfolio Manager to the Galileo funds in addition to his new title of CIO.

Evelyn Foo joined Galileo in 2009 as CFO and in 2015 was appointed as COO overseeing the financial, operational and compliance of the firm. Prior to joining Galileo, Ms. Foo had over 20 years of experience serving in senior capacities at several highly regarded investment and financial institutions including: Templeton Management Inc., where she was Controller, Mutual Fund operations and with Investors, Bank & Trust Company as the General Manager of their Canadian Operations. She also held the position of Senior Manager, External Fund Services at Toronto-Dominion Bank and served as Senior Director, CIBC Mutual Funds with Canadian Imperial Bank.
Samuel Pelaez joined Galileo in 2015, previously serving as an Investment Analyst at U.S. Global Investors, a boutique San Antonio, Texas-based investment management firm. Mr. Pelaez graduated from the Schulich School of Business with Distinction in 2012. He also holds a Masters in Finance degree from The University of Cambridge.
