EnergySolutions Statement Regarding the Court Ruli

SALT LAKE CITY, July 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As previously announced, on June 21, 2017 the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware announced its decision to enjoin the acquisition of Waste Control Specialists (WCS) by Energy Solutions , Inc .  On July 12, 2017 the Court publically released its decision. 

Energy Solutions respectfully disagrees with the Court’s opinion and believes it contains certain factual misstatements with respect to the nuclear waste processing and disposal industry.  Furthermore, Energy Solutions maintains its belief that its acquisition of WCS would have been in the best interest of the long-term waste disposal needs for the nuclear industry.  However, notwithstanding the Company’s disagreement with the Court’s opinion, Energy Solutions and the parent company of WCS decided to not appeal the Court’s decision and have terminated the purchase agreement.

Energy Solutions has no further comment regarding the Court’s decision and considers this matter closed.
