I’ve got to admit this is interesting, the shorts are borrowing shares from the longs and just paying interest, could they be hedging yes but I don’t think they’d be spending time on the message boards and you have to admit they are focused spending time for honestly what maybe a $500k return while easily risking a loss 5-10 times that much, I’ll betcha!
Basically they are betting that they can borrow enough of our shares and sell them on the street at a rate that is just enough to tip the demand curve, all the while trying to convince us that this technology is worthless and that they know more about this than we do. Meanwhile Lightwave is charging ahead in both labs and bringing talent onboard that is second to none. God Bless the shorts but I do not think this will end well for them. For longs this is a buying opportunity, but I’m also keeping some powder dry (10%), I’m going to keep it in an account that when there is news could be accessed with the stroke of a key, I’d bet I’ll be buying at the ask many times repeatedly, keep your eye on the core account my friends, and that gap will never be closed.
I’m not sure how long this will play out but IMO the shorts are digging themselves deeper and deeper but again this will not end well for them, until that time though they will look like they know what they are doing, anybody that knows me has heard me say it over and over about different technologies and individuals along the way, be patient, keep your eyes on the prize, average in, when this pops it will be lights out. It is not easy to invest in something as complex as this with this much potential, we have done our homework, I’ll give them a few months, but keep 10% aside for the finale folks. Opportunities like this usually come along about twice in a lifetime, I do not think short term, I’m a long term kind of guy.
Ok real quick now let’s say they have borrowed 1.5 Million dollars worth of stock (1 million shares round numbers), that is the most they can make if it went to Zero, if they are able to sell them at a buck (highly unlikely again because that would be purchasing 1 million shares like your rich uncle) they only make like $500k, honestly it is peanuts. The risk is when this hits 5 Bucks for 1 million shares is about a 3.5 million dollar haircut (round numbers guys) remember those shares are all borrowed. Yes this could gap up a buck or two in 1 day easily that is a $1 million dollar a day haircut and someone would get fired for not doing their homework.
