I think companies dont keep producing huge quantities of product unless they have an expectation to ship it soon or are building value for a JV or sell -simple cost-benefit analysis.
I think they are being defacto blackmailed by the u know who over the no gain no shares issued 2010 promo as a way by the puppetmaster in league w the specialized court watcher shorters and by the port or the govt for more port fees due to delayed storage -which 6-25-12 PR blames on govt requiring an additional series of audits as an overbroad response by the govt in an attempt to shut down illegal south mainland mines-
that may sound like an excuse but thats what govt 's do-respond to something overbroad and w red tape-I've posted articles showing India is doing that also-India has shut down all iron exports due to illegal mines. Mehico,as Gere pronounces it, hasnt done that but all their new moving target export restrictions have delayed things.
Thanks to sunny we know Bao is still ready and willing if and when the govt stops playing games. They've got 1 shipload of 45k tons at port and if minimum of 500k tons at mine would have 10 supramax size 50k tons load worth on a min 52-54k ton ship apparently ready to ship once the red tape is solved. Blackmail and lawsuits are increasingly how business is done in this mad mad world.
I think we've some some price support in last 2 weeks-which hopefully means we've seen the bottom.
The nice thing w the fertilizer is it will most likely be shipped to USA. They have added products w each ship, plus dont forget the cement revenue stream, which is probably keeping them going while the govt delays shipments-that product is simply trucked to Cemex's Ensenada plant.
