The pool of shares that we can lend for short selling purposes is derived from our own client accounts. The shares can only come from margin accounts and can only be used if those shares are being held as collateral against a loan (debit balance) in the account. Any shares held in a cash account or a margin account without a loan (debit balance), cannot be used for short selling purposes.
Since you do not have a cash account, we will not be using your shares for short selling purposes.
Information regarding borrowing of shares is available in our Brokerage Account Agreement and Margin Agreement.
