STOCKS TO WATCH
Deals of the Day
Shoppers Drug Mart Corp. (SC). The company said it entered into an
agreement to acquire Paragon Pharmacies for about C$75 million in cash and
said the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.
Canaccord Financial (CF). The financial services provider reported a fiscal
fourth-quarter net loss, hurt by lower revenues and higher costs tied to restructuring
and acquisition-related items. The company reported a net loss of
C$31.8 million, or 42 Canadian cents a share compared to a profit of C$41.3
million, or 49 Canadian cents a share a year ago.
