Why do people believe in conspiracy theories? Firs

The problem is that it's easier to say "naked shorts" than it is to say "I got here too early". Many posters here know for a fact that they are smarter than the market. When the market corrects their misconception they deny their incorrectness and instead blame an invisible, imaginary enemy. Anyone who who disagrees must be a part of the conspiracy.
A naked short conpsiracy is not necessary to explain the price action the past two years though. Look at what has happened the past two years:
-Losing funding for a phase 2 (K at UoB - good preclinical stuff out about two years after we expected to start a funded phase 2 in AML)
-Having to do a phase 2b in order to get a maximum value partnership (Prurisol)
-Suffering massive delays in the B-OM trial completion completion.
-Indefinitely holding off on the crown jewel B-ABSSSI phase 3.
-Depending on the stock price for funding in the face of two large sellers (Aruda/Aspire) and high profile SA hit jobs along with a frivolous lawsuit.
It's easy to see how this company lost momentum. The only counterbalance to these over the last two years has been the outstanding B-UP results and the recruitment of Dr. Bertolino. I expect these will prove to have been transformative to the company in a big way but have not reflected in the stock price yet.
Heading into 2H 2017 we finally catch a glimpse of catalysts that can revive us. With any luck we will have good results in up to four phase 2 trials and possibly even one or more partnerships.
No need for naked shorts. We changed course, suffered delays, suffered several hatchet jobs and got sued....all with a minimal cash balance and declining shareprice. The turn around cometh but our path was not completely unforeseen.
The prophecy spoke of the road we have walked and the road we will walk. Do not waver.
