Russia is going to protect their interest...just as the United States sometime misguided interest is protected. I really don't think it has anything to do much with ISIS or ISSL other than what day it is and what side they fall on for that day. Although at 1.6 Billion 1-2% that don't like either side is a pretty big army for either to deal with include those in Iran.
