Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President, To Speak at Colorado School of Mines on Recycling Metals from Industrial Waste

RENO, NV and GOLDEN, CO --(Marketwired - June 20, 2017) - Itronics Inc. ( OTC PINK : ITRO ) is pleased to announce that its Founder and President, Dr. John Whitney, will present on "Silver, GOLD'n GRO Zinc Fertilizers and Related Technologies" at a conference on June 27 sponsored by the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.

At the meeting Dr. Whitney will speak about its new "breakthrough" technology that uses the silver removed from spent photographic liquids to recover silver, tin, copper, gold, and palladium from scrap computer circuit boards (e-scrap) as a low cost method for the production of higher value silver bullion. The e-scrap is used as a "cost reducing" raw material in this process.

KOLO ABC, Channel 8 in Reno, Nevada, recently presented a major feature on Itronics' achievements. It can be viewed at: http://www.kolotv.com/content/news/Made-in-Ne...60481.html

The conference, which has been called the best short course of this kind on earth, is entitled: "Recycling Metals from Industrial Waste." Colorado School of Mines is a teaching and research university dedicated to engineering and applied science, with special expertise in the development and stewardship of the Earth's natural resources. It has been named one of the "Best National Universities" in America by U.S. News & World Report.

Itronics has won numerous top worldwide environmental awards for the development and commercialization of the process that allows it to convert toxic photo liquid waste into pure silver and GOLD'n GRO liquid zinc fertilizers and thereby permanently eliminating the waste from the environment. Itronics uses science and engineering to create environmentally clean recycling.

Dr. Whitney will explain to the group how Itronics' technology provides an environmentally and commercially attractive method for beneficially recycling spent silver-bearing photographic liquids into commercially valuable GOLD'n GRO zinc fertilizers and silver products. Dr. Whitney will explain how this technology is being applied to another large waste stream, discarded computer circuit boards (e-scrap), that are now being generated on a large scale in the United States and throughout the world. He will also tell the group about the technology portfolio Itronics is developing for conversion of several additional large industrial waste streams to commercial goods, thereby permanently eliminating these wastes from the environment.

This is Dr. Whitney's second invitation to speak at this prestigious conference. Dr. Whitney earned a B.Sc. in Geology and a M.Sc. in Mineralogy from the University of Nebraska. He earned his Ph.D. in Mineral Economics from Pennsylvania State University. He is an internationally published author about International Mining Investment Strategy and Public Policy. He has served as a consultant to the United Nations, the World Bank, government agencies, law firms, and mining companies on mineral resource development planning, mine development, transportation and tax matters and as a consultant for the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment. He served as a consultant to the Bolivian Government on successful changes to investment tax policy that led to significantly expanded mining development in that country. He established Whitney & Whitney, Inc. in Reno, Nevada as a full service mineral management consulting firm and founded Itronics as a publicly traded company in 1988.
