I agree in principle, and the moral to that fable

I agree in principle, and the moral to that fable is don't kill the goose. This is a case where we want it to keep laying valuable eggs, and we as farmers take those eggs and use them to do what we want. The problem the farmer in the story had was losing patience waiting for the egg to be laid. Much of mankind's problems stem from a desire for instant gratification that makes us act in haste.
