I think your statement about a group of independent small companies, pulling together to market and survive the large media/digital giants, is exactly correct.
I also think you are spot on: these small independent(i.e. ntek) companies can compete and eventually sell out to a large conglomerate.....

and then we longs can happily dance naked in the street with our champagne and profit.
