SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 7, 2017) - SAUCECON -- Sauce Labs, Inc. , provider of the world's largest cloud-based platform for automated testing of web and mobile applications, today announced free online training courses for open source testing frameworks Selenium and Appium. The courses benefit organizations with manual and automated testers alike by providing the training needed to advance in the age of automation.
"Sauce Labs firmly believes that automation is the best way for organizations to speed up application delivery," said Charles Ramsey, CEO of Sauce Labs. "So much so that we dedicated significant resources to train the world on the leading open source frameworks for testing web and mobile applications, Selenium and Appium, for free. We invite everyone, including students, to participate in this opportunity."
According to a recent Sauce Labs survey, organizations identified a "lack of resources and skills" as a top barrier for leveraging automated testing as part of their web and mobile application delivery pipelines. Sauce Labs' free training courses help to remove this barrier, and serve the millions of manual testers in the world who will need to evolve their skills to remain relevant in the age of automation.
"I attended the Sauce Labs Selenium 201 training class and found the content was spot on for an Intermediate level course," said Cody Gibson, Senior Software Architect at Dell. "Even though I have many years of experience in automation, I found the trainer to be very knowledgeable and I learned some new testing techniques to make better use of Sauce Labs cloud-based testing. Overall, the training was thorough, well-organized and informative."
Course participants will benefit from training designed by the experts, as Sauce Labs co-founders and employees were involved in the development and maintenance of both Selenium and Appium. As both open source testing frameworks are currently taught in universities, the courses also offer students the training they need to quickly learn automated testing.
Available at the end of June, Sauce Labs' free online, self-guided training courses will include: Appium 101 and 201 and Selenium 101 and 201. Additionally, Selenium 301 will be available by end of July. To take a free online course, visit: https://training.saucelabs.com/ .
In addition to the free courses, Sauce Labs continues to offer instructor-led and onsite courses with hands-on lab environments that start at $299 per course. These courses come complete with a virtual lab environment including all of the tools needed to complete the exercises. Providing an experienced instructor who can answer questions and guide users through the virtual labs will accelerate the learning curve. Instructor-led courses are available now for Appium 101 and 201, Selenium 101 and 201, and Sauce Labs Enterprise. By the end of July, a Selenium 301 course will also be available. Sauce Labs provides a high-performance, cloud-based automated testing platform that is optimized for Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) workflows. When tests are automated and run in parallel on virtual machines or real devices, testing time is significantly reduced and IT teams no longer need to devote time to managing testing infrastructure. When paired with a CI system, multiple development teams can instantly provision scalable resources to test web, hybrid, and native applications, continuously and affordably. Sauce Labs currently supports more than 900 browser, operating system, and device combinations.
