Re: Banoffee #6503
Sanity? If we are going to get into what is sane, how about comparing the number of jobs in renewable energy to those of fossil fuels.

Sanity is not moving backwards with scientific breakthroughs, it's moving forward. Who gains from Mr. Trump's push to hold on to the past? Big Fossil and his business partners, etc.

The rest of the world is moving on and America's great economic engine is about to sputter to a crawl as China and India pick up the technology and production slack that the US doesn't want to foster because of bad politics and lack of solid scientific understanding and business insight. It makes financial sense to bet on the future and not the past. If you want big gains in the economy, bet on the future because the past only brings modest gains as those businesses are in the maturity or end phase of their business life cycle.

My bet is on technology and company's like QMC, Tesla, Google, Apple, and others that are pushing the envelope forward in the private sector. We all know that our political system is broken and politicians can't accomplish anything of merit these days. Too much right and left partisanship and not enough working together to a mutually agreeable solution. Negotiation is a skill that has apparently been lost on our politicians of today.
