No one can deny that both nationally and globally we face an ever increasing demand for electricity thanks to all this wonderful technology we use. What will be interesting to watch is what impact quantum dots will have politically. Let’s assume that 10 years from now (when all longs have gotten filthy rich from our shares) quantum dot solar drastically cuts the cost to go solar AND provides twice the electrical output of existing silicon based solar. People who own QTMM stock are cheering but what happens to utilities if suddenly lots of people and/or businesses are “off the grid”? What does the government do with the current subsidies for solar? Whenever you have winners you also have losers. I bet right now people who are making money off OLEDs are a little concerned with the advent of QLEDs.
While we hope big things are ahead for quantum dots there are probably a number of people out there who would rather not see this technology succeed.
