Just bring the single mode fiber through the face plate and attach directly to the PIC.

Signals need to travel Further; Single mode light travels further, when Corning and Intel were focusing on Multimode because it was easy (Big Pipe), Lightwave remained focused on Single mode (Little Pipe). Folks I called that a couple years back. Well the industry is now admitting that Single mode is the solution.

And this is but a Single Device in a Market with ultimately 100’s of uses and Many Brick walls that simply cannot be solved with today’s materials. Folks they need a solution.
So when will the next Shoe Drop, Geez I wonder what the next big announcement will be, the conference is in 2 weeks, I don’t want to set expectations too high, just saying.
