Thanks and gratitudes for veterans are to be appreciated, and certainly are by those of us who served, but Memorial Day is intended to honor those who died in service to our country. Their sacrifice is to be remembered and honored on this day as the supreme act that it is. Living vets have a day, Nov 11, to honor their service. I am not belittling the thanks that I receive, only bringing the focus back to the intent. To the families of those who gave it all, I salute you. To those who never came home, I am honored to have been in your company. Semper Fi.
