My Grandfather's older brother died during the Bataan Death March on the train to Capas. His death inspired my grandfather to join the Airforce and become a pilot. He retired years later as a Lieutenant Colonel. My grandmother and grandfather are still alive. I'm lucky enough to have recently attended their 75th wedding anniversiary! The stories of the march and the wars he flew deeply sadden my heart and I so respect and honor those who've unselfishly given their life so that we may endure the freedom we have today. I have very fond memories of my grandparents and will deeply miss them when they are gone. They raised me during my early years while my mother and father worked tirelessly to support our family. My earliest memories of my grandparents are my most treasured thoughts.
Happy Memorial Day to all.
