I just received a call from Fidelity. They asked if I would be willing to lend my shares for 5% interest. My CTIX shares are in a margin account that has no current deficit. If I had a margin balance, Fidelity could lend 140% of my shares without asking and without interest.
I have no intention of allowing my shares to be lent, however, I did ask Fidelity to email me the details. I was told that the interest is floating and would go up or down based on availability of shares to lend to shorts.
I'm a little surprised that there is unmet demand for shares to short after the share price correction we just had. It's possible that Fidelity just wants my shares on a list for lending down the road. I'll know more after I read the promised email from them.
