I suspect that much of their future work will be done by Sheba, but as trials get larger I would also suspect that they'll bring in other clinical sites, and that may cost money.
As you probably know, I'm a patient at City of Hope. I know that they have developed some of the most successful drugs on the market today, and they receive some royalty money for doing so. I also believe they're willing to do trials with anything they believe can benefit their patients, but I'm uncertain if they charge, and if they do, I don't believe the charge is very high, as their Doctor's want to be working with cutting edge medicines.
My therapy has essentially been with approved drugs, and a stem cell transplant, but the chemo I'm on is not specifically approved for my form of leukemia. My Dr. considers it the third generation of Gleevec, and believes it superior, so that's what I'm on. I have met a few people there which City of Hope actually made personalized drugs for them which to date are saving their lives. They don't give up when all know products have failed.
