Any Canadians here buying OTC?

Hi Folks,
I've been lurking for a few weeks here while practicing in my thinkorswim paper money account. I appreciate the tips provided here, as many have helped with my pretend balance. I went live this morning with my own money using thinkorswim and attempted to buy 2 million shares of BVTK. It wouldn't allow me to place the order. Of course, as we all know, it took off later in the afternoon
I emailed them and was told, "Many OTC securities are restricted from trading usually due to a deficient regulatory requirement in one or more provinces in Canada. The Canadian Securities Administrator requires member brokerage firms in Canada to block trading on these securities."
Are there any other Canadians here that have faced this? I wonder if it pertains to all brokers due to the legislation? This is what it sounds like unfortunately.
