'Call It By Name': Pence Says ISIS Guilty of 'Genocide' Against Christians

Vice President Mike Pence said last night that ISIS is committing "genocide" against Christians and the world must "call it by name."

"I believe that ISIS is guilty of nothing short of genocide against people of the Christian faith, and it is time for the world to call it by name," he said.

Pence spoke to the World Summit in Defense of Persecuted Christians, hosted in Washington D.C., by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

"The practitioners of terror harbor a special hatred for the followers of Christ, and none more so than the barbarians known as ISIS," said Pence.

On "America's Newsroom" this morning, Rev. Franklin Graham praised the vice president's message, saying it's important to use the word "genocide."

"The previous administration would not even use the word Islamic terrorist. ... [President Trump and VP Pence] are saying what it is," said Graham, arguing that ISIS followers are motivated by the teachings of Islam.

He applauded Trump for instructing the IRS to ease up on enforcement of the Johnson Amendment, which prevents churches or other religious organizations from engaging in political activities.

Graham called on Congress to pass a repeal of the law to "free the voice of the church."
