Back in my day we had strong teachers
and maybe no Unions.
We even cared about our teachers.
There was also no bullying of any kind
except for an actual odd bully and that
pos was the only person who had trouble
from anyone.
If you were a real piece of shit you
might have to box the gym coach.
I did get to see one such fight
A 300 pound nut case got his face beat off.
And the coach helped him out after seeing
that the dude (just) needed to grow up.
You bought & owned your books not rent.
Life long reference material that way.
Very smart move.
The bad thing was no tennis shoes or jeans
were allowed, dress shirt and slacks required.
Which, I paid for with a paper boy route
a couple years at 3 am in the morning
It was a respected learning environment.
Clear heads prevailed. no cops no need for cops.
Uh, we had mandatory history and classics courses.
