Got my ROTH invested in CTIX for 2013. Only date I now care about is that my trades make it to long term investment before CTIX gets bought out - if that is the route LE decides to take. The rest of this year is just waiting for the trials to prove out and the world to finally realize what CTIX is about to accomplish.
Fiscal cliff helped nobody. That is the main function of Congress (and the Executive branch as Congress usually is doing his bidding) and they have failed in getting their job done for now 2 or 3 years? In my eyes that is treason. Anybody else working for the govt and not doing their job (CINCPAC decides to keep his fleet in port for 3 years, Army Gen refuses to fight for 3 years, firemen/police decide to disregard emergency calls for 3 years, etc.) would be fired but Congress gave themselves a raise I believe as a reward for doing nothing?
I have a positive way to ensure it never happens again. The budget is suppose to be done yearly. Pick the cutoff date the budget needs to get approved and if the budget is not done by that date have the House pick numbers, have the Senate pick numbers, and execute 5% by randomly picked balls as in a lottery the first day past when the budget was to have been completed. Execute 5% the next day and so on. I don't think there would be much of a future problem in getting a budget done on time and putting an end to the political BS that has destroyed the nation. In fact, it would get accomplished faster than their political payoffs. Drastic, yes, but it is going to take something this horrendous IMO to get Congress to change their ways. Congress is now pretty much lawyers, lawyers get paid by the hour, so the longer it takes them to do something the better off they are and they have now let this thinking pervade the Capitol. I would also throw in a caveat that a budget deficit (except in times of war) also qualifies for some Congressional members to be executed.
