Post# of 41413
Baltia Air Lines (BTL, New York JFK) is planning to rebrand itself ahead of a renewed push towards completing its FAR Part 121 certification and launching operations. It is recalled that following the appointment of a new company president, Anthony Koulouris, in November 2016, Baltia reached a settlement agreement with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) allowing it to re-start its certification process.
According to Mid-Hudson News, the start-up's newly appointed board of directors, on May 11, will vote to change Baltia's name to USGlobal Airways (BTL, New York JFK) while shifting its focus from the US-Russia market, to the US-Eastern Europe and Mediterranean niches.
Airline spokesman John Lampl said Baltia would also seek US Department of Transportation (DOT) approval to operate these service from Newburgh Stewart International Airport.
The report adds that Baltia has already leased office space at the airfield from FBO Atlantic Aviation with plans to lease a hangar at the airfield, also from Atlantic Aviation.
