Tucker Takes on Former Clinton Adviser Who Said Media Should 'Apologize to Hillary'

Former Clinton adviser Peter Daou believes that the national press has been unfair to Hillary Clinton and owes her an apology for their "disdainful coverage" of her during the 2016 campaign.

"Both candidates got very bad press," Daou said on "Tucker Carlson Tonight." "Candidate Trump got terrible press, and Hillary Clinton got very bad press."

Daou argued, however, that the media reported on Clinton’s server scandal and the damning emails that were leaked by WikiLeaks far more than any negative Trump story.

"The email story dominated coverage from the very beginning," Daou said, citing a study that found Clinton's emails were covered six times more than her policies. "She made a mistake, and she apologized for it."

Tucker argued that it's simply untrue to suggest the press wasn't overwhelmingly in favor of Clinton.

"They really wanted her to win," Tucker said. "They may not have liked her personally. I don't think a lot of them did. But they wanted her to win. That's just true."

Daou insisted that the playing field was tilted against her unfairly.

Tucker pointed out that for years both Bill and Hillary Clinton have pushed back against negative press by playing the victim and claiming unfair treatment.

"Have you noticed this? They always say that," Tucker said.
