Question for Jamis: In addition to your question
Post# of 22455
In addition to your question on 'capacity' (which requires added clarification), I have a question regarding something you posted on the other board. You seemed to indicate a belief that the "18 months lead time" was for the Freschfield venture, which seems somewhat reasonable, considering they are presumably only in the research & pre-planning phase.......however, the way I read that '18month' excerpt from A-Is' report , was that it was in reference to the ongoing China 'displays' venture. If it does refer to the 'display' venture[?] , which I believe it does (& is consistent with A-Is' comments) , then the prolonged 18month scenario raises more questions than answers. And expanding on that thought; what milestone dates should be attached to the 18 months lead time for displays...for instance: from acquisition of facilities in China (which was published many-many months ago) , or from 'samples' to production (whatever dates might exist there) , or from signing of a contract (say 'now' for instance) until production (which seems like it could be a deal-breaker) ? In review; here is a copy-paste of what A-I posted on this topic:
"I was kind of surprised that there is an 18-month lead time to start production in China. In my humble opinion, this is way too long! It is easier for Management to purchase another microreactor & start production in San Marcos (especially with EPA approval) & have these dots shipped. Why wait for China to come “online” to produce dots?"
