In order to cash in they need to buy real shares. In my opinion they started shorting at 3 -4 cents and rode ( sold ) it to zero.
They did not do all the selling, there were desperate idiots like Jeff who panic sold for a huge loss but , in my opinion, for the most part they naked shorted.
Junk hustler even predicted it way before it happened.
In addition I believe there were naked shorts back when ARGY, treaty's predecessor, was naked shorted by scum PIPES dealers like platinum partners , who are now serving 20-life for grand theft and fraud.
It is estimated there are 3-500 million shares short in TECO based on studies done by people who look at the trading patterns.
Nobody really knows the exact number because of the secrecy, only the people stealing know the truth and they send the scumbags we see daily to keep us pessimistic and from buying the stock.
When this resumes trading , and a market maker sponsors the stock for quotes, we will see an automatic run up of the price, heavy buy pressure at these prices will force the price up , the MM will use a huge spread to try to get money back and will continue to short .
Only success and value with revenue will force the shorts to reconsider .
